Elaine Vardamis

Co-Owner / Boot Fitter / Adventurer

Born and raised in Nederland, Elaine started fitting backcountry and mountaineering boots at 19 under mentors Chuck Bird and Bob Egeland. She joined Larry’s in 2016 and has since fit everyone from John Krakauer to first-time skiers just discovering the sport. Elaine has skied at least one day every month for the past 13 years and is a two-time winner of the Elk Mountain Grand Traverse and the only American to have won Norway’s Expedition Amundsen. She’s hiked over 4,000 miles of the Continental Divide Trail, skied across the Greenland icecap, and twice traversed Alaska’s Brooks Range on foot and by packraft. A former Winter Park Freestyle and Nederland High School racer, she can still zipper-line bumps and rip through trees with the best of them. When she’s not in the shop or on skis, she’s training to become an Alaskan bush pilot and living the mountain life in a 110-year-old Eldora cabin with her husband and co-owner, Dan.
